Hi All,
ISconf 4.2.6 looks to have stabilized at version 4.2.6.166, so I'm
going to go ahead and quietly call this a release. See
http://trac.t7a.org/isconf/ for details, and make sure to see the
BUGS/RESTRICTIONS section in the man page before deciding if this
version is right for you.
In particular, by popular demand this version does not pretend to be
very secure. In this regard it's no worse than, say, running an
anonymous rsync or SUP server with all your gold bits in it, or using
NFS, but these days we need to do better. I believe HMAC on control
messages is the right thing to implement next, followed by getting rid
of cleartext file transport; see the details in the man page, and I'll
be interested to hear what folks think.
In addition to the infrastructures list, I'm Bcc'ing interested
parties who may not be on the list and hence won't be able to do a
group reply (list postings are restricted to list members). If any of
you do want to subscribe, the subscription page is
http://mailman.terraluna.org/mailman/listinfo/infrastructures. You'll
need to be subscribed in order to submit bugs on the Trac site as
well.
Take Care,
Steve
