That hardly resembles the truth.
Coda still has a lot to improve, but it is a real filesystem.

My impression is that Coda was "suffering from its uniqueness",
so that not many really understand the concepts and internals and as such
people tend to wait for features or documentation, instead of helping to fix.

It depends on what you call a productive environment.
I am using Coda for my everyday work for years. I hope I'm productive :)
