[Infrastructures] Multi-Platform Software and Patch Distribution

Hi,
  Is anyone out there basing there infrastructure from the Usenix (LISA 2000)
paper titled:

"Use of Cfengine for Automated, Multi-Platform Software and Patch Distribution"?

I just came across it and it seems to fit the bill for what I'm trying to
accomplish.

I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with this and could comment.
